You should NEVER post a photo of your boarding pass!

Are you planning a trip? Excited of showing off your first class tickets to your destination? Or just want to show your friends that your boarding a plane?

If so, you should think twice about posting pictures of your boarding pass to Facebook or Instagram.

Most boarding passes, can include your full name, your flight record finder, your arrival and departure airports, the airline you're flying, and your frequent-flier number. This information may not sound that exciting. Much of this information could be found written out on the boarding pass.

But what's  troubling is what you can do with this information.

An article written by Brian Krebs, someone was able to use a picture of his friend's boarding pass from a Lufthansa flight to get information that gave him access to his friend's account on the Lufthansa website.
Not only they could see the one flight he was taking, but they were able to see ANY future flighes that were booked on the same frequent-flier number printed on the boarding pass.

As Krebs notes, once you have access to the account, you can change seats and cancel future flights, you can also begin to reset information related to someone's frequent-flier account.

Anyone can easily able to glean much of this information merely from pictures of boarding passes that people had uploaded to Instagram using the hashtag #boardingpass.

If you have a printed boarding pass, the best thing to do would be to hold on to it and then shred it when you can.

And, of course, don't post pictures of it online, are you willing to take the risk of someone you dont know where your going? or rather someone gain access to a traveler's account and "change seats for the ticketed passengers, and even cancel any future flights."
